Hi I'm Julian.
I'm new to this community so i'd thought I say so.
I was in the Canadian army for awhile and I'm currently a politics student at Trent University.
The US political system has degenerated into nothing more than a cheap aristocracy. Democracy in their two party system (two parties that are extremely similar) is impossible.
Basically, lots is screwed up down there. Of course nothing that is screwed up can't be fixed.

here are a few things that makes it painfully obvious that America needs to be rebooted (which of course you all know):
-how Dubya is amending the constitution so that gay/lesbian couples cannot marry!!
-how he's trying to make people forget that the war in Iraq isn't over (it's hidden in the back pages of the newspaper).
-how no one seems to care that Osama Bin Laden is still out there (wasn't he the one who started this 'freedom fighting' mess anyway?).
-how over half the U.S population is still on Bush's side.

*peace out you crazy rabbits,

09:56 am - No, really, I read it just now
According to a recent article in Rolling Stone, Canada has decided peer-to-peer file sharing is legal. Canada, I seriously LOVE YOU!

09:35 pm - Life in Canada...
This will be my first time posting here, but, here it goes.

I thought that since this is a Canada-like forum, that maybe I should provide a nice and tasteful Canadian joke.

[These are a couple of jokes I x-posted to canada_bound and nikkesen]

Wow. This is where I start the community off. I can't really think of anything too remarkable, other than I'm kind of pissed that even as a student, once I'm older than 22, I won't qualify for my parents' health plan anymore. Canadians don't have this problem.

The other thing is something I bitched about in bush_sucks the other day. Fox News. Do Canadians have this? That is, total hypnotic mind-fuck universe-altering cable television indoctrination? When I see headlines like "When Dems Attack" (I didn't make that up), it seems that we're the most indoctrinated people on the planet.

Sorry for the lame first post.
